Despite being one of the best offensive teams in the Championship, the defense has always let Aston Villa down from not being a top-six side. Only West Brom has scored more goals than them but the Lions occupy a modest fifth place in league standings.
Wigan is avoiding the relegation zone for now, and that too by a thread. They need to step up their quality in order to avoid a disastrous end to their season.
Both teams have been bundled out of the FA Cup and will have only their Championship future to work on till the end of the season. Though the exit of Wigan was kind of expected, a 3-0 loss at home by Aston Villa came as a shock to the fans.
The Lions will waste no time at all and get into the proceedings right away. The team will be dejected for their untimely exit from the FA Cup and will want to make amends. As the Villans have no other major objective left for the season, they will play their heart out on the pitch to attain at least the playoff qualification.

Also, even though they have scored the second-most number of goals in the whole league, 49, the Lions have conceded 40 in return. Reading, the 23rd team in the table has conceded 41 goals.
