Werder Bremen vs Bochum
German Bundesliga
Date: 25 February 2023, Saturday
Kick-off at 14:30 UK / 15:30 CET
Venue: wohninvest WESERSTADION (Bremen).
Werder Bremen will be looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats to Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt as they play host to relegation strugglers Bochum on Saturday afternoon at wohninvest WESERSTADION.
Ole Werner’s men were completely toothless in the final third seven days ago in their team’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Werder have failed to register a single shot on target in the 90 minutes of action on the occasion. They will fancy their chances to get back to the scoring ways in this matchup against the league’s weakest defensive line, though.
Bochum will also come into this off of a losing thread. They suffered three successive defeats across competitions and are still third from bottom in the Bundesliga table.
The latest failure for Thomas Letsch and his squad came last weekend in the home fixture against Freiburg (0-2).
Bochum now have five defeats in the last six games in all competitions. They have conceded at least two goals in each of these six outings along the way.
It is also worth noting that Bochum are particularly struggling to keep things quiet at the back on travels. They have lost 10 of 11 league fixtures away from home this season, shipping 32 goals (almost three per game) in the process.
Werder Bremen have the league’s best scorer in their ranks. Nicklas Fullkrug has bagged 13 goals so far in the season for Die Werderaner. He is now set to face the league’s weakest defense meaning there is plenty of value in backing him to score anytime at the 2.37 odds.
Werder’s win is also well worth backing at the 1.95 odds knowing about Bochum’s horrendous record on travels as well as the H2H history between these rivals.
