Aron Wright - May 1, 2020
FK Vitebsk vs Slavia Mozyr
Belarus – Vysshaya Liga
Date: Sunday, 3 May 2020
Kick-off at 14:00 UK/ 15:00 CET
Venue: Centralnyj Stadion (Vitebsk).
Mihail Martsinovich’s men began their season on the right note with two wins in the first three match-days, but ever since they have remained winless. Against Vitebsk, who have a 100% winning record at home this campaign, and who are yet to concede a goal as well, Slavia do not stand much of a chance.
Yasinsky’s men lost 2-0 on the road the last match-day, against Isloch Minsk. While the defeat must have hurt, the fact that it had come against the second-placed team in the competition, comes as a relief. Meanwhile, Martsinovich’s men lost 2-0 on the road the previous game week, against BATE Borisov.
The fact that Martsinovich’s men are on a three-game losing run is concerning, and so is the reality that they have let in two or more goals in all these three fixtures. They are also winless in their past four match-ups, and most importantly, they have recorded a total of just four wins away from home since June of 2019.
On the other hand, Yasinsky’s men hold a 100% winning record in front of the home crowd in 2020, and they have impressively not conceded a single goal till this point this year. On top of that, they are placed much higher in the league table than their counterparts, and are just a single point away from possessing a Europa League spot.
Finally, consider that Martsinovich’s men have the joint-worst overall defensive stats in the league, and the absolute worst such stats on the road. Analyzing all these findings, it’s deduced that FK Vitebsk are about to put forth an impressive performance this Sunday.
