Dinamo Zagreb are dreaming of another miracle as they travel to Estadio de la Ceramica to battle Villarreal in the return match of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final.
The Submarino Amarillo gained a huge advantage thanks to a successfully taken penalty-kick from their top scorer Gerard Moreno just before the break seven days ago in Croatian capital. It ended 0-1 for the Spaniards, but the game could have easily gone the other way as the Croats had their chances through Kevin Theophile-Catherine and Mislav Orsic. The hero from the second leg against Tottenham even scored a goal midway through the first half but it was rules for offside.
Villarreal suffered a disappointing 1-2 defeat to Osasuna at the weekend. Unai Emery decided to give rest to his main players, including Gerard Moreno and Samu Chukwueze. They both came on in the second half of the game, but were powerless as Osasuna edged to an important 1-2 win at Estadio de la Ceramica.
It will be interesting to see whether such a loss will affect the team’s performance in this second leg.
Villarreal head into the game as heavy favourites, especially if we know that they had been on a six-game winning streak across competitions before the mentioned defeat at the hands of Osasuna. However, Spurs were also favourites against Dinamo but failed to keep a two-goal advantage and we would not be shocked to see this Dinamo team doing it again at the highest stage.
There is no value in backing El Submarino Amarillo at the odds of 1.45 here. Instead, we will go with Dinamo not to lose at the sky-high 2.62 odds. Modri have been the best defensive team in the group stage of the competition and we believe they should have what it takes to keep this a low-scoring encounter. The second pick is Under 2.5 goals FT at the 1.80 odds.
