Viking vs Stabaek
Norwegian Eliteserien
Date: 20 August 2023, Sunday
Kick-off at 16:00 UK / 17:00 CET
Venue: SR-Bank Arena (Stavanger).
Viking are chasing their 10th straight league win on Sunday afternoon in the home fixture against the struggling and out-of-form Stabaek in Matchday No 19.
The aforementioned wonderful streak of results saw the hosts move level on points with the likes of Bodo/Glimt atop the Eliteserien standings.
The latest of their victims were Lillestrom last Sunday when Viking maintained their scintillating attacking form by netting three goals before allowing a late consolation strike from the rivals.
Viking have now bagged at least three goals in three of the previous four Eliteserien affairs. They have the second-best attacking record in the whole league.
We can only expect the red-hot hosts to continue their amazing run against Stabaek who have not been pulling up any trees of late.
The visitors are on a negative thread of their own after suffering four consecutive defeats. Lars Bohinen’s men have huge problems on both ends of the pitch.
They have failed to score in five of the previous six league matches. Stabaek were not in action last weekend, meaning they at least had two weeks to recover from an unpleasant 4-0 catastrophe at Odd.
Nevertheless, we are afraid that even a two-week time will not be enough for the visitors ahead of the clash against the super-inspiring Viking in Stavanger.
Viking are scoring at will these days. They have found the back of the net three or more times in three of the previous four league fixtures. Stabaek are not pulling up any trees with a run of four consecutive league losses.
We have no other option but to back another commanding victory for Viking who are 2.05 to beat Stabaek by two or more goals difference on Sunday.
