USA vs Paraguay

US Men’s soccer team meet Paraguay in a friendly on 27th March 2018 as both teams start a new era post World Cup qualification failures.
Both teams are coming to this friendly with an interim manager. The Stars and Stripes will be managed by their former assistant coach Dave Sarachan. While the South Americans are tutored by their former u20 manager Gustavo Morinigo.
The US have rested majority of their start players from this one-off friendly including the likes of Jozy Altidore, Christian Pulisic and Michael Bradley. Moreover, the team have only four players who played more than 10 games in the national colors.
On the other hand, Paraguay are also coming with a fringe squad and they are playing they are taking the football field for the first time since narrowly missed out at World Cup qualification. However, they do lack the service of a genuine goal-scorer or a play-maker, which could be the main difference between the two sides.
The teams met 4 times over the last 2 decades and they share 2 wins each from those ties. Their most recent was at the Copa America Centenario group stage where USA knocked out Paraguay with a 1-0 win aided by first half goal from Clint Dempsey.
Both sides are filled up a number of fringe players, but the United States are more accustomed to the conditions and they are a number of new faces who are eager to prove their worth to the new coach. Moreover, they drew Portugal and Bosnia back in their last two friendly games with a similar squad. On top of that, I hardly see any positives from Paraguay since they are a team that lost in 12 of their last 17 games in all competitions.
