Torino vs Frosinone
Italian Serie A
Date: Saturday, 6th October 2018
Kick-off at 19:30 UK/ 20:30 CET
Venue: Stadio Olimpico di Torino (Turin).
Walter Mazzarri will be happy with Torino’s start to new season and they will be eyeing back-to-back wins for the first time this season when they welcome a win-less Frosinone this Friday.
Last week saw Torino edge past Chievo by a solitary goal. This is only their second win of the season, but they have been pretty consistent performers in all matches they played so far this season.
After 7 match weeks, Torino won 2, drew 3 and lost 2. The two defeats came at home, however against top teams like Napoli and Roma. Meantime, they bagged points in every other game, including a morale boosting stalemate against Inter Milan.
On the other hand, Frosinone are having a tough time and they managed just 1 point from the 7 matches so far.
Frosinone lost 1-2 at home to Genoa last week, this is also the first time they scored a league goal this season. Meantime, their defending has been all over the place and conceded a whopping 18 goals so far.
The II Toro often made their opponents sweat hard to snatch points from them in the early stages of this season. And the only teams to beat them this season are heavy weights like Napoli and Roma. It can be said that this side managed by Walter Mazzarri is an upgrade to the team that finished 9th last season.
The newly promoted Frosinone had found it hard to adjust to the intensity of Serie A and they are most likely to face a similar fate to that in their previous one-off season in top flight back in 2015/16. Coming to Turin without a win and 6 defeats from 7, we cannot expect them to trouble this determined Torino side.
