- Viking: It is a club from Stavanger. They debuted in 1937–38. With 74 seasons in the top division, team Viking has won 8 titles. Their most recent championship victory came in 1991.
Every team plays every other team twice—once at home and once away. This means each team plays a total of 30 games in a season. All the teams together play 240 matches during a regular season of Eliteserien.
The point system is simple. If a team wins, it gets 3 points. If the match ends in a draw, both teams get 1 point. If a team loses, it doesn’t get any points. When and if the teams are tied on points, the ranking is decided based on goal difference, goals scored, and head-to-head results between the concerned teams.
At the end of the season, the team with the most points is crowned the League Winner. Similarly, the two teams with the lowest points are automatically relegated to a lower division, called the Norwegian First Division (1. division). On the other hand, the top two teams from the First Division get promoted to Eliteserien.
The team that finishes 14th also plays in a special playoff against the third-placed team from the First Division. Whoever wins gets a ticket to next year’s Eliteserien, and the other team plays in the 1 division.
Key Betting Markets for Eliteserien
The betting markets for football are vast, and Eliteserien is no exception. You’ll find many different betting options if you choose the best sports betting and casino sites. Simply put, for every Eliteserien fixture, you’ll have multiple outcomes to predict and bets to place. Here are some of the most popular ones:
- Match Result (1X2): This is the most common type of bet. Your objective is to predict the outcome of the game—either a win for the home team (1), a draw (X), or a win for the away team (2). For example, if Bodø/Glimt is playing Brann, you can bet on Bodø/Glimt winning, the game ending in a draw, or Brann winning.
- Over/Under Betting: Here is how it works—you predict the total number of goals in the match and bet whether it will be over or under the line set by a bookmaker.
- Both Teams To Score: In this bet, you must predict whether both teams will score at least one goal during the game. For example, if Lillestrøm plays Tromsø, you can bet on “Yes” if you think both teams will score or “No” if you think at least one team won’t score.
- Double Chance: It is one of the safest types of football bets. As a punter, you wager on two possible outcomes instead of one. For example, if Viking is playing Sandefjord, you can bet on Viking to win or draw (which covers two outcomes), or you can bet on Sandefjord to win or draw. Either way, your chances of winning are more.
- Handicap Betting: It is an advanced type of bet. It comes into play when one team is considered stronger than the other. In handicap betting, the stronger team is disadvantaged, or “handicap.” For example, if Rosenborg is playing Haugesund, Rosenborg being the favourites, might be given a -1 handicap. This means they must win by at least two goals for your bet to win.

3 Calculative Strategies
Following the tips can help you make the right predictions. However, to make the most out of your bets, you must place wagers in a calculative way. For that, here are some strategies:
Martingale is a simple but effective football betting strategy. Here, you double your bet after each loss. For example, if you lose a $10 bet, your next bet would be $20, then $40, and so on. The advantage is that it can quickly recover losses.
The Fibonacci betting system is another strategy based on the famous Fibonacci sequence. In this system, you increase your bet according to this sequence after a loss. For example, if your first bet is $1 and you lose, the next bet is $1, then $2, $3, $5, etc. This method is slower than Martingale’s but effective and less risky.
The D’Alembert system is one of the most conservative football betting strategies. Here is how it works—you increase your bet by one unit after a loss and decrease it by one unit after a win. The best feature is that it’s less aggressive, and you can control the risk of huge losses.
