Partick Thistle vs Motherwell
Scottish Premiership
Date: Tuesday, 8th May 2018
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Firhill Stadium (Glasgow).
Desperate times for Partick Thistle as their life in Scottish Premiership depends on the results of other games even if they bag 6 points from their remaining two. They squandered the chance to give them some hope and put pressure on those above them this Friday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the rock bottom side Ross County.
The Jags have 30 points in their bag and 3 points below safety and six points is what Alan Archibald and his men need from the final two games of the season to give them some chance. On the other hand, they will get relegated on Tuesday itself, if Hamilton wins and Thistle fail to win theirs.
Motherwell are coming on the back of a humiliating 1-5 defeat at home against St. Johnstone. The defeat could rattle them, but they are already in the safe zone and there is little to play for in the final week of the campaign.
It is high time that Partick Thistle come good and bag three points in order to save themselves from drop. Motherwell hasn’t been doing well and they have nothing in front of them to play for, which was evident in their poor performance at home against the Saints on the weekend. With the strong home advantage trend in their head-to-head stats, we must believe that the hosts have the better chance to win this one.
