Sweden vs Armenia
International – Friendlies
Date: Saturday, 5 June 2021
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Friends Arena.

Sweden are one of the best teams in the continent, and are about to enter the prestigious Euros. They are definitely going after a big win this Saturday at home, against Armenia, who have been on a poor run at home for the past several months.

Sweden are ranked 18th in the world, and are on a superb run at the moment. Especially at home, they are on a blistering streak, and are scoring goals at a consistent rate.

They were a part of the top-most League A in the UNL, and had finished second in Group G in Euro Qualifiers.

They had scored the second-most number of goals in the qualifying tournament, and had conceded the second-least. The best records were posted by toppers Spain.

Meanwhile, Armenia were a part of League C in the UNL, and they had missed out on a ticket to the Euros, with a fifth-place finish in Group J in the Qualifiers.

Barring the dead-last placed Liechtenstein, they easily were the worst in the group, and had set the worst records in almost all major stats – once again disregarding Liechtenstein.

Going on, Armenia are going through a poor run on the road, and are conceding goals in huge numbers. In fact, in the past six-year period, they have seldom won on the road.

By the looks of things, expect a Swedish victory this weekend at the Friends Arena.

Sweden vs Armenia: Head-to-head (h2h)

  • This is the first time these two squads are about to lock horns with each other.

Sweden vs Armenia Prediction

Sweden are on a four-match winning streak, and had scored a total of 11 goals from their preceding six games.

Note that they have lost just twice in the past two-year period. Once against reigning world champions France, and once against reigning European champions Portugal. Moreover, at home, they had won seven of the past nine appearances.

On the other hand, their counterparts have won just four times on the road in the past five-year period, and have a single clean sheet away from home since 2016. And this clean sheet had come against minnows Liechtenstein.

Note that they had also conceded two or more goals in eight of their former thirteen road trips.

Taking into account these observations, expect a thumping Sweden victory this weekend against Armenia.
