Sunderland vs Scunthorpe
England – League One
Date: Sunday, 19 August 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK
Venue: Stadium of Light (Sunderland).
Sunderland have seen a quick demise from Premier League to the third tier and now have to get used to life in League One as they retain consistency through their first two outings, beating Charlton Athletic and holding Luton to a 1-1 draw, and host Scunthorpe for their Matchday 3 clash just days after their League Cup clash against Sheffield Wednesday.
Black Cats have been conceding goals on the regular and Jack Ross will have to work on that despite a positive streak early on, as they’re up against a strong challenge at Stadium of Light on the day. They’ll be well aware consistency in front of the home crowd will come crucial and showing their character comes as a must!
Scunthorpe have seen a mid-week League Cup loss of their own where Doncaster Rovers ended their two-game unbeaten streak with a 1-2 upset. Nick Daws’ men have beaten Coventry on the road beforehand, though, and there will be no love lost here either – as they look to secure another return to the winning ways away from home.
We will back the Black Cats to justify such a role and build on their League One performances early on, as we go for a Home win at 1.83.
They have been solid up front and we do feel they have what it takes to turn the contest their way despite a strong challenge.
With that in mind, we do see Scunthorpe making it on the scoresheet as well and we’ll thus also back a YES on Both teams to score, which comes at 1.95 and has attracted many value seekers already.
We’ve seen both sides regularly scoring and conceding recently and this could be further evidence for such a bet!
Home win @ 10/11 (1.91)
Both teams to score YES @ 10/11 (1.95).
