Strasbourg host Metz in the first game of the 6th round of Ligue 1 on Friday evening at Stade de la Meinau.

Strasbourg will be looking to translate the display from their previous home fixture on Friday evening when they play host to fellow strugglers Metz.

Their previous home game was the one in which Julian Stephan’s men showed by far the best performance, beating Brest 3-1.

It is still their only victory in five league games as the team expectedly fell 3-1 away at Lyon after the international break.

To be fair, nobody generally expected miracles from this Strasbourg team at the Groupama Stadium.

The story is completely different ahead of this Friday’s game, though. Metz represent a winnable fixture for the hosts by all means, especially if we remember their display in the aforementioned win over Brest.

The visitors are still without a win in the league after five rounds. It is a horrendous record if we know they’ve played the likes of Nantes, Reims, Clermont, and Troyes in the last four outings.

Frederic Antonetti’s job is thus already on the line and we can only imagine what would happen in case of another failure here.
