Despite having a dismal campaign in the league last season which saw the hosts finish eleventh in the table, the squad’s victory in the 2018-2019 Coupe de la Ligue was enough to ensure that they would be competing across Europe this year.
However, they will have to step up their game if they are to sustain in the tournament. The French outfit were without a win in their last four games on home soil in the league and tasted success in just one out of their final eight.
The visitors come into the tie having beaten Mura in the previous round by an aggregate 5-2 scoreline.
Apart from taking twice as many attempts at goal as their counterparts, their last clash on the road also saw them keep the major share of possession.
However, the chances of the away side coming away with a win in this are definitely bleak, with the hosts sizing up to be the better of the two sides.
Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg are the favorites to come out on top in the maiden clash with the visitors this week as they are part of one of the toughest leagues in Europe and are a much more experienced side, in comparison with their foes.
And, although the latter did finish second in their respective league last season, it has to be said that the home side are on a much higher level than the teams that they go up against every weekend.
However, considering that the squad have been faring well in their recent clashes building up to this matchup, we can certainly expect them to get their names on the scoresheet along with the hosts, in what looks likely to be a high scoring clash.
