Peter Green - August 21, 2020
Stabaek vs Brann
Norway – Eliteserien
Date: Monday, 24 August 2020
Kick-Off at 19:30 UK/ 20:30 CET
Venue: Nadderud Stadion (Bekkestua).
The Blue Ones are in a post of bother after being winless in their last six league matches. This has prevented them from getting into the top five. The recent defeat to Haugesund was a shocker and another disappointing result was the draw to relegation side Viking. Even after scoring thrice, they could not get all three points.
Brann pulled off a stunning win against reigning champions Molde recently. But that was their first win in over six games. They are coming into this game after the home defeat to Mjondalen. But since the head to head history favors them against these hosts, they will hope to get back to winning ways on Monday.
The home team has few chances for winning this one. They are currently on a four-match winless run at this ground. This includes two defeats against Odds and Rosenborg. At the same time, the visitors have also lost more games in recent matches on the road. Based on the head to head history, Brann has the upper hand in this fixture. So to be on the safe side, I think there is a Double Chance for a draw or Brann winning on Monday.
The Blue Ones have scored in the majority of games even though the final result was not in their favor. They faced the toper Bodo/Glimt recently here and managed to draw the game scoring two goals. Brann had to face the top three sides in recent away games. They lost to Glimt and Odds without scoring, but they won the latest one against Molde scoring two past their strong backline. So I am backing both teams to get goals.
