Sporting CP vs Vitoria Setubal
Portugal – Primeira Liga
Date: Saturday, 18 August 2018
Kick-Off at 21:00 UK / 22:00 CET
Venue: Estádio José Alvalade, Lisbon.
Sporting went through a very turbulent period in the finish of the last Primeira Liga campaign.
The horrendous situation in and around the club caused the exodus of first team regulars this summer as the Lions saw their squad change significantly in between two campaigns.
Nevertheless, they still remain heavyweights and one of the main contenders for the very top of the standings, besides Porto and Benfica.
The Lions started the new season with a convincing 1-3 victory away at Moreirense and they will be favourites to maintain the perfect record after the second round tie against Vitoria Setubal at Jose Alvalade.
The visitors were one of the biggest disappointments of the last season as they finished just two points above the drop zone.
The team led by Lito Vidigal had a horrendous record on travels where they won 1 and lost as many as 11 of 17 games in the previous term of the competition.
Bas Dost continued from where he stopped last year as he was the one who inspired the 1-3 victory over Moreirense with a second-half brace.
The Dutchman will lead the attacking line here as well and he is our top suggestion for the anytime goalscorer pick.
Nevertheless, Setubal were also quite impressive in the final third in both pre-season and the first game of the regular campaign. They notched as many as eight goals in last three outings.
Knowing that Sporting’s defensive line allowed a goal against Moreirense on Sunday, we’ll shoot for the home win & BTTS bet at the odds of 3.10.
