Italian Serie A brought new rule by introducing decisive matches for title, European positions, and relegation in case of the same number of points between two teams this season.

We will immediately have one such game as Spezia and Verona ended the 2022/23 campaign level on points right on the brink of the red zone.

The two outfits will thus lock horns in a single leg on the neutral venue of the MAPEI Stadium – Citta del Tricolore on Sunday evening to determine the third relegated team in the campaign.

Spezia scored just one goal in the last three league outings, losing the last two to Torino (0-4) and Roma (1-2) along the way.

Verona have been even worse, claiming just one point in the last four Serie A affairs. They have scored three goals in the process, shipping three in two of the last three matches (to Atalanta and AC Milan respectively).
