Southampton vs Manchester City

The teams from the opposite sides of the Premier League standings will lock horns in the last game of Saturday’s program as Manchester City visit St. Mary’s Stadium in Gameweek 30.
The Citizens continued the chase for leaders Arsenal with a staggering display in the 4-1 drubbing of Liverpool seven days ago.
Jack Grealish, Julian Alvarez, and Kevion De Bruyne delivered a goal and an assist each on the occasion as Pep Guardiola’s machinery showed strength once again even without the league’s top scorer Erling Haaland in the squad.
The Norwegian striker is still in doubt for the trip to St. Mary’s Stadium. Considering the quality of the opposition as well as a tough schedule including the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich next week, we would not be surprised to see Haaland sitting out again.
Either way, the back-to-back reigning champions are enormous favorites here and we expect them to pick up any easy victory in what should be a one-sided contest on the south of the country.
The Citizens will go into this on the back of seven consecutive victories across competitions. They have bagged as many as 17 goals in the last three victories, conceding just once along the way.
Southampton will enter this in a completely different mood. They are winless in four successive league outings and a 1-0 defeat at West Ham last weekend left them alone at the very foot of the league table.
The team led by Spanish manager Ruben Selles failed to find the back of the net in three of the previous four league games, a run that does not bode well for their fans ahead of the clash with one of the best defensive lines in the competition.
Southampton did not score in three of the last four league affairs. We fancy the 1.90 odds offered for Manchester City to win to nil here.
The gulf in quality between these rivals is just too big at the moment and we can hardly imagine the Citizens dropping precious points at St. Mary’s Stadium. You can back the visitors to have the lead at the half time and win the match at the end at the odds of 1.83.
