Santos vs Vitoria
Brazilian Serie A
Date: Sunday, 3 June 2018
Kick-Off at 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
Venue: Estadio Urbano Caldeira, Santos, Sao Paulo
Season 2018 has brought nothing but a disappointment for Santos fans. The announcements and pre-campaign expectations were super high, but the team collected only six points from the opening seven matches, so current placement in the relegation zone doesn’t come as a surprise. Things could be improved with a potential win against Vitoria this weekend. It is a good opportunity because the visitors are struggling with the form lately too. Bookies awarded hosts with 1.66 for the win, which can hardly be called a value.
It is been a while since Santos won a match. They suffered four defeats in the last five outings across competitions, while snatching one point from Real Potosi in Copa Libertadores. Total goal difference from those duels is at horrible 1-5. When it comes to results at this stadium, the results are not that bad – two victories and one defeat. The average number of goals is 2.33.
Unlike the majority of other lower part of the table teams in the division, Vitoria rarely park a bus. Three out of the last five games they played had three or more goals, which is a good thing to know going into this market.
Santos have failed to keep one single clean sheet in the last six matches played in Brazilian Serie A. That trend is hardly going to change on Sunday, considering the fact Vitoria scored three goals in the last two. Both teams to score at 2.00 is going to be my first betting suggestion.
Even though he hasn’t been on fire lately, Curzello Elias is high profile striker, and I fancy the odds of 2.20 to see him score anytime.
