Both Santos and Tigres were top-performing teams in the Mexican top flight during the Apertura phase, and as a result had secured impressive finishes.
However, one thing that separates them is the struggles of Tigres on the road. They have been on a poor run in away matches for quite some time, and are even conceding goals in huge numbers.
At the same time, Santos have been on a great run at home, and have slotted in goals in at a superb rate. And it needs to be noted that even the past h2h clashes clearly show this trend.
Likely, expect a win for Santos this weekend at the Estadio Corona.
Santos were unbeaten in six of their last seven overall fixtures, and five of these were wins. They had also scored two or more goals in five of their former seven games, and they have lost just twice at home since November of 2020 – which spans a period of 13 months.
On the other hand, Tigres are on a three-fixture losing run on the road. The last they kept a clean sheet away from home was three months back, and they could manage just three wins on the road in the past eight-month period.
And most importantly, at this venue, Tigres have a worrying h2h record in recent years.
Considering these observations, expect a win for Santos this Saturday at their home.
