Sunday as usual offers us one game from the EFL Championship to close the round. This time the draws decided that Rotherham United will face Millwall at home.
Last time Rotherham played in this level of competition the team got relegated rather early. The team was simply not good enough. Now the Millers have different ambitions. The team wants to secure its place in the league for the upcoming years.
Memories from their previous season in the Championship emerged when the team lost their opening game with 5 goals. Things looked brighter following their first 3 points which sadly for their fans are their only so far. Midweek was another defeat this time at home against Hull City. Rotherham put up a serious fight but eventually lost 2-3.
Millwall are still showing the tendency from last season to do well at home. The problem comes whenever the team travels to other stadiums. The away results will be in the buildup of any of the team’s success. Sure The Lions will stay away from relegation with strong home performances but they need points from their visits to really challenge for top spots.
Last round things were not so good at their visit to Hillsborough. The Lions didn’t get outplayed but Wednesday showed better finishing. The Owls struck two heavy blows in the beginning of each half which discouraged Millwall. Eventually the visitors returned one goal but it was not enough.
Rotherham despite winning one of their opening games didn’t impress. The teams lacks a bit of sharpness up front and leaks some easy goals at the back. Millwall is a decent side which can exploit such flaws. They may not be the best visitors but here they might as well take the points.
