The first leg ended in a 2-1 home win for Borisov, but they surely would have hoped for a 1-0 victory more than this one, considering they missed out on the clean sheet. Now, with the threat of the away goal looming over them, the players will be under pressure as they make this visit to Trondheim.
It also worries them that the Norwegians have been doling out wins with huge scorecards like it’s nothing in their recent match-days, especially at this stadium.
BATE will have to make use of the momentum they have built for themselves from their successful run on the road in the past weeks, to wade through this challenge.
Rosenborg has scored four or more goals in two of their last three matches and three or more in three of their last five. At home, they scored thrice or more in five of their last seven too. With their European fate on the line, we can count on the hosts to score at least once this Wednesday.
But the need for the home team to score will force them to abandon posts at the back, which will be the cue for BATE to slot in an away goal, which will not only neutralize the one they conceded in the last leg, but adding to this their lead in the aggregate scoreline – this would translate to the club making a significant forward run in their quest for progression.
Also consider that they have scored two or more goals in six of their last seven fixtures, and in four of their last five on the road.
As such, expect goals from both sides, but in the end, await the visitors to go through.
