Steffen Schmidt - April 27, 2023
Roma vs AC Milan
Italian Serie A
Date: 29 April 2023, Saturday
Kick-off at 17:00 UK / 18:00 CET
Venue: Stadio Olimpico (Rome).
Roma and AC Milan are lock on points right on the brink of the top-four positions in the Serie A standings, meaning we have all the ingredients for a massive six-pointer on Saturday afternoon at Stadio Olimpico.
Jose Mourinho’s men significantly complicated things in the battle for the Champions League spots with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Atalanta on Monday night.
It was a pretty much toothless effort up front from La Lupa whose players managed only to find a late consolation goal from their lone shot on target in the 90 minutes of play in Bergamo.
The loss terminated Roma’s three-win run in the league, leaving them just outside of the top four places in the Serie A table.
AC Milan, on the other side, backed up the Champions League success with a 2-0 victory over Lecce on Sunday.
Rafael Leao confirmed his excellent spell of form by completing a brace at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
I Rossoneri are now unbeaten in six successive games across competitions. They have conceded just two goals in the process which is quite impressive given they’ve faced Napoli three times along the way.
Both Roma and AC Milan have improved their defensive performances in recent weeks but there is just no value at all in the Under 2.5 goals FT pick at the 1.53 odds. After all, we’ve witnessed some genuine goal fests in the H2H games between these two rivals in the last several years.
Knowing Roma shipped three goals to Atalanta on Monday, we are very much tempted by the away win pick at the 2.75 odds. Also, Rafael Leao is well worth backing to score anytime at the 3.00 odds given his splendid form in recent weeks.
