The 2024/25 season is taking shape as we approach the first half of the season in several leagues across Europe.
Many teams have started the season well, swiftly regaining form and establishing themselves as title contenders as the season progressed.
There have been numerous surprises in European leagues, with some clubs exceeding expectations with their performance thus far while others are underperforming.
Some clubs have had a dismal start to the season as they approach the first half, struggling to establish their rhythm and currently in the relegation spot.
These teams still have a chance to redeem themselves and rescue their season before the gap between other clubs gets widens.
As a result, we’re going to examine relegation threatened teams in major European leagues who have the potential to turn their seasons around.
Wolves began the season without a win in their first eleven league matches, which is one of their worst streaks in history.
This put tremendous pressure on head coach Gary O’Neil to turn the tide, as his side was at the bottom of the table.
Their troubles originate from their vulnerable defense, with Gary O’Neil struggling to find the ideal defensive partnership, having conceded the most goals in the league with thirty-six.
However, their performance seems to be improving with only two defeats in their past six games, moving them from last to nineteenth position, three points behind 17th placed Crystal Palace.
Based on their recent performance and their forthcoming matchups against West Ham, Ipswich Town and Leicester City, we feel they can make a breakthrough and escape the relegation zone.
The Tractor Boys’ return to the Premier League does not appear to be going as planned, with them fighting for survival in the relegation zone.
They have only won once in the League this season and are now ranked eighteenth in the log with nine points.
There problems at the start of the season stemmed from their poor defensive shape, but it appears like head coach Kieran McKenna has found a temporary solution, as they now concede less goals.
However, Kieran McKenna biggest worry at the moment is his team’s lack of offensive threat. They are struggling to create scoring chances and have failed to score in their previous two games.
Opponents have found it difficult to claim a win against Ipswich recently because they are putting forth a valiant effort, and we feel they will resume winning ways if they can solve their goal-scoring problems.
Valencia is having a disappointing season so far, following their decent ninth-placed finish in the league the previous season.
Head coach Ruben Baraja is having a tough inaugural thirteen league games, with only ten points and sitting in nineteenth place.
However, they seem to be finding their stride lately, with only one defeat in their last three league encounters.
Valencia has not been demoted since the 1985/86 season, and we predict they will keep their position in the topflight this season by building on their current performance to turn the tide.
Le Havre is back in the Ligue 1 relegation zone, having narrowly avoided relegation the previous season with three points.
The failure of the club to make quality signings and bolster the squad is negatively impacting the team’s performance.
They are presently seeded sixteenth in the standings, with twelve points from thirteen games.
However, it looks like manager Didier Digard is working on boosting their attack, which has been a big issue since the beginning of the season. They have won two of their previous four games, and continued improvement could be a turning moment in their season.
They have been through the relegation battle in previous seasons have always found their way out, and we expect this season to be no exception.
These aforementioned teams have the ability to make a breakthrough as the season progresses and turn the tide, and it would not be surprising if at the end of the season, they escape relegation after a string of strong performances.
