Real Salt Lake and Seattle Sounders sit right next to each other inside the top four in the Western Conference standings going into their first round game in West 2 Group in the newest edition of the Leagues Cup.
The hosts enter the tournament as one of the hottest teams in the MLS with a streak of seven wins and three draws in the previous ten outings across competitions.
Their manager Pablo Mastroeni can be especially pleased with the team’s superb attacking form as Red & Blue Army notched nine goals in the last three league affairs.
Left wing-back Diego Luna was especially inspired seven days ago by completing a brace in a 3-1 win over New York Red Bulls.
We also have to mention the like of Jefferson Savarino who contributed to the win with a goal and an assist. The Venezuelan winger is now the team’s top scorer with six goals to his name this term.
However, we also have to say that Seattle Sounders boast the second-best defensive record in the entire MLS with no more than 23 goals conceded in 24 matches this season.
They do have only two wins in the last nine league games, though, but we should be cautious betting against them with such an impressive defensive line.
We did not witness goal fests in recent head to head history between these two sides. Knowing how tough to break down Seattle have been since the beginning of the season, we fancy the Under 2.5 goals FT bet at the 1.95 odds here.
