Real Madrid vs Alaves
Spanish La Liga
Date: 19 February 2022, Saturday
Kick-off at 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabeu (Madrid).
Real Madrid will be hoping to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat in mid-week’s UEFA Champions League affair at Parc des Princes on Saturday evening when they host Deportivo Alaves in the 25th round of La Liga.
Los Blancos have generally had some unexpected slip-ups of late and we can by no means state they are enjoying their best form these days.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men won only one of the last five outings across competitions. They have scored just one goal in the previous four games in the process.
Karim Benzema returned to the starting lineup for the mentioned R16 clash against PSG on Tuesday night but he did nothing to hurt the Parisians as Real Madrid generally only had the ball in the opponents’ half on rare occasions in French capital.
Deportivo Alaves will park the bus on Saturday at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and such an approach may give them the wanted result considering Real’s shaky form.
The visitors desperately need points to try and reach the safe zone which is currently four points away.
However, they have been horrendous defensively on travels this season. Alaves have conceded at least two goals in each of the last six away outings in La Liga.
They allowed as many as twelve goals in the last three away defeats to Villarreal, Real Betis, and Elche.
This match is a perfect opportunity for the hosts to find their shooting boots and lift the spirits in their dressing room with a comprehensive victory against Alaves who have been struggling badly to perform on travels lately.
We will back Real Madrid to win by three or more goals difference and Karim Benzema to score anytime as the main betting options here.
