Rangers vs Celtic
Scottish Premiership
Date: 3 September 2023, Sunday
Kick-off at 12:00 UK / 13:00 CET
Venue: Ibrox Stadium (Glasgow).
Rangers and Celtic lock horns in the first Old Firm of the season on Sunday exactly at noon at Ibrox Stadium.
Both teams have already slipped up despite playing just three games each in the league. Rangers fell to Kilmarnock 1-0 on the road on the opening day before clinching two easy clean-sheet wins over Livingston and Ross County.
The bigger problem for the Gers is the fact they’ve just suffered a demolishing 5-1 defeat to Dutch Eredivisie heavyweights PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League playoffs on Wednesday night.
The timing could have hardly been worse for Michael Beale and his men as such a painful loss has come only four days before the big city derby against eternal enemies.
Luckily for Beale and the Gers’ fans, Celtic will by no means enter the Old Firm in much higher spirits either.
The Bhoys have big issues with the efficiency these days as they failed to find the back of the net in back-to-back domestic affairs, a feature you won’t see that often in Scottish football.
Brendan Rodgers’ men first suffered a shocking League Cup exit after a 1-0 defeat at Kilmarnock before failing to break the deadlock in a goalless draw to St. Johnstone last weekend.
The Bhoys are still at the top of the Premiership standings with seven points in three outings but their attacking form in the most recent outings is by no means promising head of the clash against the bitter city rivals.
Both Rangers and Celtic possess a strong firepower on display in the final third and we have usually witnessed high-scoring affairs in their head to head encounters in the last several years.
The Over 2.5 goals FT & Both Teams To Score will thus be our main betting option at the 1.80 odds while we will alternatively take the 2.00 odds for Celtic’s win in the “Draw No Bet” option, knowing the Gers have just suffered a painful Champions League defeat four days ago.
