After a slow start to their league campaign, PSG are now back at their phenomenal best. They are determined to make amends for the near miss they had in the UCL, when they were downed by Bayern Munich in the final.
Moreover, they also have history with Manchester United. In the 2018-19 campaign, the Parisians had taken a 0-2 lead in the first leg at the Old Trafford – only for them to go on and lose at home in the reverse fixture, by a 1-3 scorecard.
That loss had given Thomas Tuchel’s men the tag of ‘chokers’, and the pain that followed was unimaginable for fans.
All that could be settled this Tuesday, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men take a trip to the Parc des Princes.
Form-wise, the Ligue 1 team are far ahead than that of their counterparts, and so are they in case of talent. On top of that, Tuchel’s men are dead-set on proving themselves to doubters in the biggest of stages.
Manchester United, who have picked up a reputation for being inconsistent lately, are easily the underdogs here.
Count on PSG to make the most of this encounter.
With the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr etc firing on all cylinders, right away the Parisians are the favorites to win the game.
They two are easily two of the top-five players in the world, and a combination between the two would be too much to handle for any defense in the world; let alone the hugely inconsistent one as that of the Devils.
On top of that, PSG are on a five-match winning run, scoring a total of 16 goals in the process, and they have won all of their appearances at home in the past 12-month period – except for a draw and a loss.
On the other hand, Man United have lost four of their last eight overall games, and they also had lost 1-6 at home against Tottenham the week before.
Considering the form of the Parisians, and the inconsistency of Solskjaer’s men, expect a PSG win this Tuesday.
However, this is the CL, and more than often, Tuchel’s men have found it hard to deal with nerves. Meanwhile, the Red Devils have a reputation of thriving under pressure, and they also have a 100% winning record at this stadium.
Finally, the Red Devils are on a four-match winning run away from home, and they had scored three or more goals in all of these fixtures. So, there are most likely to score at least once at the Parc des Princes.
