It’s time for another European classic as Spain and France are set to battle it out in the clash of continental heavyweights in the first Euro 2024 semi-final.

The match kicks off on Tuesday evening at Fussball Arena in Munich. Can La Roja continue their brilliant run and record their sixth successive win in the competition?

Spain are the only team with wins in all five matches at the 2024 Euro so far. No nation has ever won six straight games at the European Championship in the past.

Super-sub Dani Olmo made the difference for La Roja in a 2-1 extra-time victory over Germany on Friday. The RB Leipzig midfielder delivered a goal and an assist in the quarter-final.

France were far less impressive en route to the semi-final. They are yet to score a goal from open play at the Euro.

Les Bleus advanced past Portugal, beating them in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in 120 minutes of action in the quarter-final.

Luis de la Fuente has been doing an amazing job with this Spanish team since taking over Luis Enrique.

The new manager opted for the formational change as he has found the winning formula. He took Spain to the UEFA Nations League glory and now to the Euro semi-final in an impressive fashion.

De la Fuente will be forced to make at least three changes for the semi-final, replacing suspended Daniel Carvajal and Robin Le Normand, as well as injured Pedri.

The likes of Jesus Navas and Nacho should deputise in the back line while Dani Olmo is expected to take Pedri’s place at the centre of the park.

As for France, they don’t have issues with suspended or injured players, other than Kylian Mbappe’s struggles with the mask.

Mbappe is producing subpar performances at the Euro and the protective mask certainly has a lot to do with it.

Team-wise, Adrien Rabiot is back from suspension and we expect him to regain his place in midfield at the expense of Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga.

Furthermore, Marcus Thuram could get the nod ahead of Randal Kolo Muani up front.

Spain are flying high with a streak of five consecutive wins at the Euro. They’ve shown strength in the semi-final victory over hosts Germany.

With 15 wins in their last 19 games under Luis de la Fuente, La Roja own the best record in Europe.

Also, Spain have won four of the previous five semi-final matches at European Championships.

They do have problems with suspended players in defence but the likes of Jesus Navas and Nacho can do enough to successfully replace Ravcajal and Le Normand.

France have been far less impressive on the way to the semi-finals. They look uninspiring once again versus Portugal in the quarter-finals.

We just can’t ignore the 2.60 odds offered for Spain to win in 90 minutes based on everything we’ve seen from these two outfits so far in the tournament.

Nico Williams to threaten Mike Maignan

We see huge value in backing Nico Williams to register at least a shot on target at the 2.37 odds on Tuesday.

The left winger has been phenomenal throughout the tournament. He was particularly inspired with a goal and an assist in a 4-1 drubbing of Georgia in the round of 16.

France have conceded only one goal since the beginning of the tournament but Mike Maignan has pulled off some sensational saves to deny the rivals in the last two outings.

Nico Williams should get his chances on Tuesday and we expect him to deliver at least one shot on goal.

The braver tipsters can take the sky-high 5.50 odds offered for Williams to score anytime in this game.
