Tottenham lost all hopes of the top-four finish with a 0-2 defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday evening. They will be looking to lock in the 5th place on Sunday afternoon. Spurs visit Bramall Lane to take on last-placed Sheffield United on the final day of the season.

Tottenham could not cope with the tough schedule in recent weeks. A run of five defeats in the last six league rounds proved costly for their Champions League ambitions. Ange Postecoglou’s men had their chances in the mid-week’s game against defending champions but they lacked concentration in crucial moments.

Sheffield United will bid farewell from the top-flight football on Sunday. It has been a horrendous campaign for them and their fans. The Blades broke negative records by conceding 101 goals in 37 matches this season. They firmly hold the very foot of the league standings with 13 points between them and Nottingham Forest in the safe zone.

It is very hard to look past a comprehensive victory for Spurs here. Sheffield United go into this off the back of six consecutive defeats in the league. They are winless in 13 subsequent Premier League matches. The Blades shipped four or more goals in three of the last five outings.

Spurs have not been much better lately either with a run of five defeats in the last six league games. However, they’ve faced much tougher rivals in the process.

This match should provide Tottenham with a great opportunity to at least end the season with a commanding victory against the weakest team in the division. We see the value in backing Spurs to have the lead at the half time and win the game at the end at the odds of 1.95.

Alternatively, we will back the Over 3.5 goals bet at the 1.61 odds. Tottenham conceded ten goals in the last three league games on the road.

We would by no means be surprised to see Sheffield United netting on Sunday. Also, four of the last five matches the Blades played saw at least four goals scored.
