Nottingham Forest wrote one of the most beautiful stories of the Premier League last season by reaching the 7th place.

The Reds had even been in a genuine top-five race all until the final day of the season but a home loss to Chelsea destroyed their ambitions.

Nuno Espirito Santo has lost the like of Anthony Elanga in between the two seasons. Nevertheless, Nottingham Forest did manage to keep hold of their main star Morgan Gibbs-White who was on the verge of a move to Spurs.

Brentford were not as lucky as they’ve lost several key pieces to their recent successes.

Bryan Mbeumo and Yoanne Wissa were among the league’s top scorers last season. The former has left for Manchester United while the latter is on his way out after missing the preseason matches.

We should also add the departure of Thomas Frank as a long-term manager.

Nottingham Forest vs Brentford Prediction

Nottingham Forest have been struggling badly for goals in the preseason. The fact that we saw only a single goal in total across their previous four exhibitions this summer speaks volumes.

Brentford did not shine either but they still managed a win and two draws in three games, including a 2-2 stalemate to Borussia Monchengladbach last Friday.

We saw two away wins in the head-to-head outings between these rivals in the previous Premier League campaign.

Only one of their last four H2H matches provided three or more goals. The value is with Brentford who are 1.72 to avoid a loss here knowing that Nottingham Forest failed to find the back of the net in four straight preseason friendlies.

The Under 2.5 goals is well worth backing as an alternative option at the 1.90 price-tag.
