Ipswich vs Derby Match Preview

Only seven teams have yet to secure their first win in the Championship this season, and Ipswich and Derby are among them. Derby has the worse performance, losing two out of three league matches. Ipswich has managed two draws and one defeat in their three league games.

Belgian manager Hubert David must be concerned about Derby’s weak defense, which has allowed 9 goals in three matches. The forwards are trying their best, but the poor defensive setup continues to undermine their efforts. You can see how frustrating their defense is when you look at the current top scorers. Carlton Morris is third with goals in each of Derby’s matches.

Adding to their challenges, Derby has a bad head-to-head record against Ipswich, having lost the last two meetings. Ipswich is also on a two-match unbeaten streak against Derby at home. Fans at Portman Road can expect an enjoyable game this weekend.

Ipswich vs Derby Prediction

Ipswich’s first home game this season ended in a 1-1 draw, extending their unbeaten run here to two games. However, their defense still raises concerns. Kieran McKenna used a 4-2-3-1 formation in their first home match against Southampton. Their attack created over a dozen chances, but they struggled with accuracy. With just one shot on target from so many attempts, their front line seems aimless.

Nevertheless, they have a good chance to improve their accuracy against Derby, whose first away match of the season ended in a 3-1 loss. Derby’s defensive wall has many gaps that let opponents come at the goal easily.

This game seems to be one where home advantage is significant. Derby has not won at Ipswich’s ground in the last eight years, so an away victory seems unlikely. Ipswich is eager to end their winless run this season, while Derby still has the capable striker Carlton Morris, who might score here.
