Hvidovre vs Vejle Prediction & Match Preview

The bottom two Superligaen teams will raise the curtain on Matchday No 16 on Friday evening at Pro Ventilation Arena.

Interestingly, both Hvidovre and Vejle managed to pick up clean-sheet wins in the most recent games before the international break.

Hvidovre ended a five-loss thread in all competitions with a 2-0 victory over fellow strugglers OB on the road.

Tobias Thomsen was the hero as his second-half brace made all the difference between the two sides in what was an open game packed with chances on both ends.

It was also Hvidovre’s first win of the season. The hosts lost 11 of 15 league fixtures so far in the campaign and they are still firmly at the very foot of the standings with six points between them and Vejle.

Vejle have been the dominant force in the history of this matchup, winning 17, drawing 8, and losing just 1 of the last 26 clashes with Hvidovre.

These two sides met each other four times last year in Danish 1st Division as Vejle claimed two wins and two draws in the process.

Vejle also came on top in the reverse match in this term of Superligaen, picking up a 3-1 victory in mid-October this year.

The Verdict

Vejle won three and drew two of the last five meetings with Hvidovre. We trust their defensive line to keep hold of the league’s worst attacking team and we see the value in backing the away win pick at the 2.25 odds.

While there is merit in backing the Under 2.5 goals FT pick at the 1.80 odds, we will rather opt for Vejle to keep a clean sheet at the more attractive 2.75 odds.
