FC Dallas is hosting Portland Timber at the Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas looking to continue their ascent on the Eastern conference log. They have lost their last two matches, and other results around the league ensured they are rooted to 11th on the league standings. Nevertheless, their current form will be a cause for worry, having won just three times in their last ten games, with two of those victories coming at home.

They have been pretty solid at home in recent times, winning three of their last five home matches. A win against Portland Timber will in no small measure make up for their last home defeat against Cincinnati. The visitors too have the same trend and have found the back of the net in all but three of their 11 away trips in the MLS this season. Based on this, we are tipping both teams to score for this tie.

There has been an average of 2.2 goals in matches between FC Dallas and Portland Timbers, and both sides have seen over 2.5 goals scored in at least ten of their matches in the MLS this season. It thus seems plausible to call this tie at Over 2.5 goals.

Portland Timbers’ eight-game unbeaten run has seen them firmly rooted in a playoff spot on the log, however, they will want to ensure that they hang on to that spot, to avoid other teams catching up.
