BW Linz vs Ried Match Preview

It’s three rounds into the new Bundesliga season and only four Austrian clubs remain without a win. Two of the four clubs are BW Linz and Ried. Hofmann Personal Stadion will host a contest between the two clubs, seeking their first win this season on Saturday.

Mitja Morec had the toughest start of all the other managers of this Bundesliga season since BW Linz is the only team to lose all three league games at the beginning. Aside from the losing start, what concerns him secondly is the attacking aspect that has not registered a goal so far this season.

Ried fared slightly better comparatively as they lost two and draw one of their three league games at the beginning. The only good thing from these three matches is the attacking line of Ried who scored 3 goals. This is certainly an advantage for Ried.

But there is something for BW Linz to bank on for spirits, the head-to-head. They are currently on a four-game unbeaten run against Ried and won three during that span. Ried’s 100% unbeaten record against BW Linz’s home ground also ended at their sole friendly encounter in 2023 as BW Linz beat them 2-0. A close game can be anticipated here by all indications.
