Poland vs Germany
International Friendlies
Date: 16 June 2023, Friday
Kick-off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Stadion Narodowy (Warsaw).

Poland and Germany will lock horns in a high-profile international friendly on Friday evening at Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw.

The Germans will thus play the middle game of their three-game set in June, following an eventful 3-3 draw to Ukraine on Monday afternoon in Bremen.

Die Mannschaft rescued themselves at the death via late goals from substitute Kai Havertz and Joshua Kimmich four days ago.

It was the second straight outing in which Hansi Flick’s troops conceded three goals, following a 2-3 defeat at the hands of Belgium in March.

As a host nation, Germany no not play the 2024 UEFA EURO Qualifications. Nevertheless, there are no doubts Flick and his men will look at the upcoming exhibitions as competitive matches, especially after being so leaky at the back of late.

When you add the team’s poor defensive showings and an early group stage exit at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, we can seriously address Germany’s issues at the back.

Poland have started the new journey under former Portugal head coach Fernando Santos. The start did not bring promising performances, though.

The Eagles fell 3-1 at Czechia in the opening game of the EURO Qualifications, three days before celebrating a narrow (yet super-important) 1-0 victory over Albania on home soil.

Poland are set to face Moldova in the next round on Tuesday but it is a match they’ll fancy their chances of a three-pointer in anyways which is why we expect Santos to utilize his strongest XI at the start of this exhibition against Die Mannschaft.

Poland vs Germany Head-to-head

  • Germany have 13 wins, 7 draws, and only 1 loss in the last 21 clashes against the Eagles.
  • The outfits last met each other in the 2016 EURO qualifiers when Germany claimed four points from the two clashes against Poland.
  • Only one of the last four head to head games between these rivals provided goals at both ends.

Poland vs Germany Prediction

Both Poland and Germany have been vulnerable defensively under Santos and Flick of late and we have plenty of reasons to expect a high-scoring affair on Friday. The Over 2.5 goals FT & Both Teams To Score is the way to go at the odds of 2.10.

Alternatively, we like Kai Havertz to score anytime against the leaky Polish defense at the odds of 2.75. Chelsea’s star only came on from the bench to score a goal against Ukraine on Monday and we would not be surprised to see him in the starting lineup on Friday.

Poland vs Germany Betting Tips

  • Over 2.5 goals FT & Both Teams To Score @ 2.10 (11/10)
  • Kai Havertz to score anytime @ 2.75 (7/4) odd.
