Parma vs Lecce
Italy – Serie A
Date: Monday, 13 January 2020
Kick-off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Ennio Tardini (Parma)
Seventh-placed Gialloblu’s will be looking to make amends for last week’s drubbing at Atalanta.
After beating the likes of Sampdoria (1-0) and Napoli (2-1) and sharing the spoils with Brescia (1-1), Parma fell to an embarrassing 0-5 defeat to Atalanta. Roberto D’Aversa’s men were completely outplayed as Bergamese reduced them to three shots, one on target, and La Dea could’ve scored more, but Luigi Sepe recorded two crucial saves.
With eight points from last six league outings, Parma are still going strong, sitting at 7th position.
At Ennio Tardini, the Gialloblu’s have recorded four wins, one draw and four losses, scoring 1.44 goals per match and allowing 1.11 in return. They have won four of their last seven home fixtures.
Gervinho (16 games, 4 goals), Karamoh (5/1) are on the treatment table for the hosts, Barilla (18/1) is suspended on yellow card accumulation.
The Salentini slumped to their second consecutive home defeat, third overall, after conceding a late goal against the Zebrette. As a result, Lecce slipped to 17th place on the Serie A ladder, just one point above the relegation zone.
Fabio Liverani’s side will be hoping to rekindle their mid-October and November form which saw them lose just once in seven league matches.
Lecce have logged three wins, two draws and four defeats away from home, averaging 1.33 goals scored per bout, whilst conceding 2.11. They have earned five points from last five away games (1-2-2).
The journeyman striker Lapadula (11/4) is doubtful for the trip.
Parma (4-3-3): Sepe – Darmian, Bruno Alves, Iacoponi, Gagliolo – Scozzarella, Hernani, Kucka – Kulusevski, Inglese, Sprocati.
Lecce (4-3-1-2): Gabriel – Donati, Lucioni, Rossettini, Dell’Orco – Tabanelli, Tachtisidis, Petriccione – Mancosu – Farias, Falco.
I was thinking of backing Parma in DNB market, but odds are just silly. Instead, with a 2-1 or 1-1 scorelines in my mind, I will take goals on both ends.
The Salentini have scored in 78 percent of their away matches and Parma’s rearguard must be shaky after last week’s drubbing.
With Gervinho on the sidelines, the pressure will be on Dejan Kulusevski even more than usual and I will back him to net anytime. The Swedish international has bagged four goals and recorded seven assists this season.
