Panama vs Jamaica
FIFA Women’s World Cup
Date: 29 July 2023, Saturday
Kick-off at 13:30 UK / 14:30 CET
Venue: Perth Rectangular Stadium (Perth).
Jamaica picked up their inaugural point ever at the World Cups on Sunday when they held European heavyweights France to a goalless draw in Sydney.
They will now have a nice opportunity to back up such a result and make a step up by celebrating their maiden win at the flagship event on Saturday with the clash against fellow CONCACAF side Panama in Gameweek No 2 at Perth Rectangular Stadium.
The Reggae Girls have done an amazing job to limit France to just four shots on target six days ago .
They have thus kept back-to-back clean sheets if we count the 1-0 win over Morocco in the final check before the start of the tournament.
The only negative side for Lorne Donaldson’s girls ahead of this match will be the absence of their talisman Khadifa Shaw.
Jamaican best player got sent off in the second minute of added time six days ago against France and she will not be able to help her teammates on Saturday.
Nevertheless, Jamaica are still enormous favorites here against Panama who looked dreadful on the opening day against Brazil.
Panama lost 0-4 on the occasion, allowing the rivals as many as 33 attempts. The World Cup debutants head into this game off the back of three successive defeats and a goal difference of 0-16 in the process.
There is just nothing to suggest a better result for Ignacio Quintana’s squad in this tie.
We expect Jamaica to be in full control of the happenings on the pitch on Saturday based on everything we have seen from these two sides in both friendlies earlier this month and at the start of this tournament.
You can back Jamaica to have the lead at the half time and win the game at the end at the odds of 2.75 while the Reggae Girlz are sky-high 7.00 to win by three or more goals difference on Saturday.
