KV Oostende vs Genk
Belgium – First Division A
Date: Sunday, 12 August 2018
Kick-Off at 13:30 UK / 14:30 CET
Venue: Versluys Arena, Oostende.
Genk will travel to Versluys Arena in high spirits after snatching a commanding 2-0 victory over Lech Poznan in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League tie.
The Blauw-Wit thus made a huge step towards the play-off round in the continental competition. Ruslan Malinovskiy and Mbwana Samatta notched goals for Philippe Clement’s side on Thursday evening.
Moving forward, Genk made a strong start to the new First Division S campaign as well. They took four points from the opening two games.
The first round saw them pick up a demolishing 0-4 victory away at Lokeren, while they were unlucky to concede an equalizer in the last weekend’s home tie with Sint-Truiden – their lone shot on target in the entire match.
Nevertheless, the third round should provide an opportunity for the Blauw-Wit to get back on the winning ways and keep touch with Anderlecht and Club Brugge at the top of the standings.
KV Oostende began the campaign with the home win over Royal-Excel Mouscron 2-1, but they followed it up with a catastrophic 5-2 loss to Anderlecht last weekend.
The head coach Gert Verheyen clearly has troubles with the lack of meticulousness in his team’s defensive line.
Knowing that the visitors have a red-hot Ukrainian striker Ruslan Malinovskiy in their ranks, it’s really hard to go past the away win bet at the 1.83 odds here.
Malinovskiy notched two goals in two First Division A games so far, while he was also on the scoresheet in the recent Europa League victory over Lech Poznan.
Genk to win @ 1.83
Genk Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 1.66.
