Peter Green - January 16, 2019
Nottingham Forest vs Bristol City
England – Championship
Date: Saturday, 19th January 2019
Kick-off at 15.00 UK/ 16.00 CET
Venue: City Ground (Nottingham).
The Robins look like a team with a mission and have been scary good in the last few match-days. They avoided defeat in their last ten games and has won their last four in a row. Even better, they kept clean sheets in three of those four.
After the long impressive run in the first half of the season, the level of Forest looks like it has dipped. The players would love to get back to their glory days in the sun. But they will have to deal with this tricky tie before that.
Of the three losses they faced recently, two really did hurt them. One was against Reading, and the other against Millwall. Both these teams are right at the end of the lower tier of the Championship table.
Forest has always performed well against this opponent at their home. But it was earlier. Lee Johnson’s men have been looking really sharp and hungry in the last month or so, and if possible most teams would avoid meeting them. High-profile teams like Stoke, Birmingham, and Derby have suffered home-defeats at the hands of this group, and for sure the hosts will be losing sleep over this tie.
Even when the Reds had good results at home against this team, the winning margin was always very small. To pinpoint, the team from Nottinghamshire has scored one exact goal, or none at all, in their last seven attempts at home.
Coupled this with the in-form City, I expect the match to end with a 0-1 scoreline, in favor of the guests.
