Norway are slowly rising up the ranks in European football arena. They are in form, and especially so at home. Against Greece, who are on a dismal run on the road, they are deemed to be the favorites.
Norway are ranked 42nd in the world, and with the new addition of some generational talents, they are determined to leave their mark.
They were a part of League B in the recently-concluded Nations League, and had finished second in Group B1. They had scored the most number of goals in the group, and had the second-best defense.
Though they narrowly missed out on promotion, the team will be back in the next edition, determined to make it to the top-most League A.
In the Euro Qualifiers, they had finished third in Group F, and in terms of stats, as well as performances, they were the best team in the group after Spain and Sweden.
Meanwhile, Greece are ranked 51st in the world, and they are going through an inconsistent streak – especially on the road.
Moreover, they were a part of League C in the UNL, and had missed out on promotion. They had also missed a ticket to the Euros with a third-place finish in Group J.
By the looks of things, expect a Norway victory this Sunday at the Estadio La Rosaleda.
Norway were unbeaten in 26 of their preceding 31 overall match-ups, and they had kept clean sheets in five of their last eight fixtures. Note that they have also lost just twice at home in the past five-year period.
On the other hand, their counterparts were winless in three of their last four overall games, and they have won just five times on the road in the past four-year period.
Note that they have conceded two or more goals in two of the past four road trips, and they have failed to score in three of their preceding six away fixtures.
Taking into account these observations, expect a Norway victory this Sunday.
