The Flying Dutchmen have begun their campaign on a disastrous note. The team had lost the 2010 World Cup Final, had lost in the 2014 World Cup semis, and had failed to qualify altogether in the 2018 World Cup.
After these back to back setbacks, they were determined to get their old glory days back. And under Ronald Koeman, they were on the path to reigning supreme as well.
However, the gaffer had to take the mantle at Camp Nou, and that seems to have derailed the project.
After losing the opener, the team has put themselves under needless pressure, and will have to deliver a crushing win at any cost this weekend – to get back on track as well as to gain their lost confidence.

Moreover, Frank de Boer’s men were placed in the top-most League A in both editions of the Nations League so far, and in the 2018-19 competition, they had even appeared in the final.
On the other hand, their counterparts are still stuck in the bottom-most League D. And on top of that, they have qualified to the 2021 Euros, while Dainis Kazakevics’s men were placed dead-last in the Qualifiers, with a record of nine losses and a win.
Finally, the Flying Dutchmen also have a terrific h2h record against this rival over the years.
For the reasons, expect a win from the determined Netherlands this Saturday.
The Flying Dutchmen lost 4-2 on the road the last match-day, against Turkey. In the meantime, the 11 Wolves lost 1-2 at home against Montenegro.
Going on, Boer’s men have a phenomenal h2h record against this rival, and are also determined to secure a huge win this weekend – in order to get their qualification campaign back on track.
They also have been on a terrific run at home lately, while their counterparts have won just twice on the road since 2016 – and one of these wins had come against San Marino – the worst squad in the world.
By the looks of things, expect Netherlands to open their account with a win this weekend, and that too in style.
