Netherlands vs Georgia
International – Friendlies
Date: Sunday, 6 June 2021
Kick-off at 17:00 UK/ 18:00 CET,
Venue: De Grolsch Veste (Enschede).
De Grolsch Veste will witness Netherlands’ final game they appear for their maiden European Championship in their schedule since 2012. They will host Georgia in a friendly on Saturday, with the latter having nothing to play for other than pride in the fixture.
The home team is at the 16th spot in the FIFA rankings as of now and as such, defeating the host will be an achievement for the traveling side. On the other hand, Georgia is at the 91st position in the FIFA rankings as it stands.
The host will return home after a 2-2 draw at home with Scotland in the previous friendly encounter in their overall schedule. Netherlands has lost only one of their last nine matches across all major international fixtures.
In the meantime, Georgia has been unbeaten in the last two matches but the win in the last game just broke their eight-game winless streak with four losses in it. They will visit on the back of that 1-2 win on the road against Romania last time out in a friendly.
The teams haven’t met before in recent times across any competitions.
There is no doubt that the match is sizing to be a high-scoring affair in ninety minutes. Netherlands holds an upper hand over the traveling side via both ground advantage and squad strength. Along with that, the home team is in a better position in the FIFA rankings than the visitor.
Georgia is not at their best form but the recent two unbeaten games will improve their morale. The host has nothing to worry about in their defensive line. As such, the tip for over 2.5 goals will probably be the best bet for the punters in the clash. Besides, the tip for Netherlands to win with a -1 handicap will come in handy to yield decent returns in the fixture.
