Peter Green - January 10, 2019
Nacional vs Belenenses
Portugal – Primeira Liga
Date: Sunday, 13th January 2019
Kick-off at 15.00 UK/ 16.00 CET
Venue: Estádio da Madeira (Funchal).
Either of these teams has had a mixed record in the recent few weeks. The sides do not seem much motivated to make something happen, as the safety net of the mid-table has unknowingly made them complacent, especially the Pastries.
The Alvinegros take their home-games a little bit serious though. They managed to tame their defensive frailties at home and has reduced the number of goals they concede at home by quite a margin. Belenenses has been completely hopeless on the road the whole of last year. In the period stretching back to last February, all the team could manage was just two wins on the road.
The White-and-Blacks have scored in every single game against O Belem at this ground. Also, in eight of the last 11 h2h ties at this venue, the hosts scored two or more goals. Adding to this fact, consider the terrible away record of the visitors that they have shown the last whole year, and we can come to the conclusion that, there will be at least two goals by the Alvinegros.
This match seems like a good opportunity for the home team to bounce back to their winning or unbeaten ways. They have consistently performed well against Belenenses, and especially at the Madeira. The last four h2h wins in a row and eight of the last nine belong to the team from Funchal.
Expect them to get on top of things right from the get-go. There will be at least a goal in the first half itself, and in all probability from the hosts.
