Morocco vs Ghana
Africa Cup of Nations
Date: Monday, 10 January 2022
Kick-off at: 16:00 UK / 17:00 CET
Venue: Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo
Morocco follows a 2-3 shootout lose against Algeria in FIFA Arab Cup Quarter-finals. They begins their first round of Africa Cup of Nations as hosts. They will host Ghana at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo on Monday.
The hosts have only lost two games out of the last 30 games they played across all competitions. They had an unbeaten streak of 28 games since they lost to Algeria in their last game.
Compared to Morocco, Ghana have a seesaw of form. They have won five of their last 10 appearances. They lost to Algeria in their last match. However, they both will enter this match up with similar spirits.
Morocco looks like to succumb to their first ever defeat since October 2019 when they clash against Ghana on Monday.
Barring their recent loss to Algeria on the road, Ghana have actually been putting on a very solid performance on the pitch. They have managed to win three out of their last five matches.
But that will count only little for this Morocco side who have been winning games for fun lately. Putting unbeaten records aside, they have scored 30 goals from their last 10 outings across all competitions.
They have a long winning record at home too. They have lost only once in their last 20 games at home which is quite impressive.
While Ghana is not having a better shape on road. They have managed to register only a couple of wins out of their last 10 away matches. Ahead of this clash, Ghana haven’t won on road against Morocco. That’s never good.
Therefore, Ghana might need more of good fortune to get anything against this Morocco outfit who we think might be able to get on the scoresheet for at least a couple of times themselves in a winning performance.
