Mexico vs Scotland
International Friendly
Date: Sunday, 3rd June 2018
Kick-Off at 01:00 UK
Venue: Estadio Azteca (Ciudad de Mexico).
Mexico have been beaten by Croatia and held to a goalless draw by Wales in their last two outings, as they start June hosting Scotland for their Friendly clash at Estadio Azteca in desperate for a return to the winning ways with the final tournament in Russia just around the corner.
El Tri have been a very tough side in front of the home crowd and with that in mind, many rate going for a Home win a banker bet. They’ve impressed at the back and it does come to mind Juan Carlos Osorio will want to see a rock-solid defensive line on the day as well, as the home side look to lift their team spirits in Ciudad de Mexico.
Scotland have had troubles regularly scoring goals and this could prove another struggling day in the attacking third, after they failed to find the net in three of their last four outings – netting just one along the way. They have no high stakes to play for but do need consistency ahead of the September UEFA Nations League clashes, which also promises a solid challenge!
We will now back Mexico to build on their fine home performances and we’ll back them to outclass the rivals in a narrow contest, sticking our necks out for a Home win & Under 2.5 goals FT at an eye-catching 3.00. We regularly see them putting on such displays and this does seem like more than a longshot.
Scotland have struggled to score goals and with that in mind, we don’t see them making an impact at Estadio Azteca either. We’ll thus back Mexico to keep their fifth clean sheet in six outings across competitions at 1.61, which has attracted attention as a generous banker bet.
