Manchester United vs Tottenham
England – Premier League
Date: Wednesday, 19 October 2022
Kick-off at 20:15 UK/ 21:15 CET
Venue: Old Trafford.
Tottenham are all-in this season. They are giving it all they have, and so far they have been amazing. They are placed third in the table at the moment, and will have the upper hand this Wednesday against Manchester United, who are still figuring out their way in the PL.
The Red Devils were on a good run for a short while, before they took on arch-rivals Manchester Cit. This ended in an embarrassing defeat for the team. Ever since they seem to play like as if they lost their spark and momentum.
Just the last match-day they were held to a goalless draw at the Old Trafford, by Newcastle.
They are already trailing quite a lot below the toppers, and even ardent fans do not hope for the title. All they want this time around is a top-four finish.
The fact that they failed to make it to the Champions League has been a thorn on their hearts since the start of the season.
And they have a mammoth task in front of them this Wednesday.
Spurs seem determined to make this season count. They lost just once in total all through the campaign, and the loss came against toppers Arsenal.
Barring two other draws, they have a 100% winning record in the league. Note that one of these draws came against Chelsea.
My pick for Wednesday is certainly Tottenham. They are in form, and have the confidence as well as momentum to take on the inconsistent Manchester United.
The Devils have a huge task in front of them – which is to regain their confidence. The defeat against City really shook them to the core – and such was the score line.
Anyhow, they are now not equipped to take on an in-form Spurs.
Tottenham are on a winning streak, and not only are they scoring in plenty – but they also have one of the best defenses in the competition.
In fact – at the time of writing only two other teams managed to concede fewer goals than them – with one of them being title-holders Manchester City.
Surely expect Tottenham to have the edge this Wednesday. Do also count on them to keep the struggling United offense in check.
