Steffen Schmidt - April 13, 2021
Manchester United vs Granada
UEFA Europa League
Date: Thursday, 15 April 2021
Kick-Off at 20.00 UK
Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester.
Manchester United have done the job seven days ago on Spanish soil when they picked up a big 0-2 victory over Granada in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League quarter-final. Nazaries now need a miracle to go through to the semi-final as they need to score at least two goals without conceding a single to at least force the extra-time on Thursday evening at Old Trafford.
The team led by Diego Martinez did lift the spirits in the dressing room with a 1-2 comeback victory over Real Valladolid on Sunday afternoon in La Liga. Martinez took advantage of the opportunity to give rest to some of his key men, including striker Roberto Soldado who is once again expected to be the main threat to United’s goal.
Granada need to push for goals here which should eventually leave plenty of space for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s forwards.
Mason Greenwood delivered a beautiful performance in the weekend’s 1-3 comeback victory over Tottenham Hotspur in London. If he starts the return fixture, the youngster would be our main recommendation for the anytime goalscorer bet.
Although the first leg was pretty poor in terms of goal-scoring chances at both ends, we would not be surprised to see a higher-scoring affair in the reverse fixture.
Manchester United have conceded at least a goal in three of the last four games in all competitions (they only kept a clean sheet against Granada seven days ago), and we would not be surprised to see them conceding to attacking-minded Nazaries on Thursday.
The Over 2.5 goals FT is the best betting option at the odds of 1.90, while the braver tipsters can try with Man Utd to win & BTTS at the odds of 3.50.
