Steffen Schmidt - February 10, 2023
Manchester City vs Aston Villa
English Premier League
Date: 12 February 2023, Sunday
Kick-off at 16:30 UK / 17:30 CET
Venue: Etihad Stadium (Manchester).
Manchester City will be hoping to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat at Tottenham on Sunday afternoon when they take on Aston Villa in Matchday No 23 at Etihad Stadium.
The Citizens failed to take advantage of Arsenal’s shocking defeat at Everton as they are still five points behind the Gunners atop the Premier League standings.
Mikel Arteta’s men also have a match in hand, meaning there is no more room for mistakes for Pep Guardiola and his men.
Also, it is worth noting that the Citizens are about to face Arsenal on Wednesday evening in a massive six-pointer at Emirates Stadium. A commanding win here against Villa would certainly boost up the spirits in the dressing room.
Although the Citizens did not look inspiring at all last weekend at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, they are very much capable of producing loads up front against pretty much any team in the league.
The fact that Aston Villa shipped four goals in their home clash against Leicester last Saturday will only make a stronger case for a commanding Man City win here.
Unai Emery’s men were unrecognizable last weekend at their Villa Park and such a defeat against the Foxes certainly came at a very much wrong moment, ahead of the clash a wounded beast at Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City will be very motivated to make amends for the loss at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They will also want to build momentum ahead of the clash against Arsenal with a commanding win in front of the home fans.
You can back the Citizens to win both halves at the 2.50 odds, while we will also take the 3.00 odds for Erling Haaland to score two or more goals on Sunday.
