Manchester City vs Arsenal
English Premier League
Date: 26 April 2023, Wednesday
Kick-off at 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
Venue: Etihad Stadium (Manchester).
Premier League title will be on the line on Wednesday evening when Manchester City host Arsenal in a mouth-watering derby of the season at Etihad Stadium.
Both teams keep the keys to the title in their hands ahead of the tie. The Gunners are five pints clear atop the league table but they have two games in hand on the reigning champions.
A loss here for Arsenal would make their title charge significantly more complicated, especially considering the easier schedule for the Citizens in their remaining seven games.
Pep Guardiola’s men continued their superb form with a 3-0 drubbing of Championship side Sheffield United in the FA Cup semifinal on Saturday afternoon.
Riyad Mahrez got the nod on the right flank and he took the most of it, scoring all three goals for his team at the weekend.
The Citizens now have eleven wins and a draw in the last twelve outings across competitions, they are in the FA Cup final and in the UEFA Champions League semifinal.
Arsenal will not enter the derby on the same note following another disappointing draw. The Gunners barely avoided a defeat on Friday night, playing only a 3-3 stalemate in the home fixture against the rock-bottomed Southampton.
Mikel Arteta can be worried regarding the lack of meticulousness in his team’s back line in the absence of William Saliba.
Arsenal allowed at least two goals in each of the previous three league outings and they have not kept a clean sheet in six straight matches across competitions.
Manchester City have been scoring for fun lately and we believe their red-hot attacking line should have too much for the leaky and out-of-form Arsenal defense on Wednesday. The Gunners also have their immense offensive potential and we would by no means be surprised to see them on target here as well.
The Home win & Both Teams To Score is thus the way to go at the odds of 3.00, while we are also very much tempted by the 3.25 odds offered for Erling Haaland to score the first goal of the game.
