Lucknow pulled off a stunning win in their last match against Rajasthan Royals. RR were in control and needed only 21 runs from the last four overs, but LSG’s bowlers stepped up with a brilliant finish to seal their fifth win of the season. Now, they will face one of the top teams this year, Delhi Capitals, on Tuesday.
Delhi Capitals come into this game after losing their top spot in the standings. Their recent 7-wicket loss to Gujarat Titans allowed GT to climb to the top of the IPL table.
Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals have faced each other six times in the Indian Premier League since LSG’s debut in 2022. Both teams have secured three wins each.
At the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, both teams have won one match each. In 2023, LSG dominated with a 50-run victory, but DC bounced back in 2024, winning by six wickets.
Over the past three matches, DC has had the upper hand, winning all the three games. Notably, in the last season, DC defeated LSG twice.

Karun Nair (DC): Delhi’s opening pair is looking strong, especially Karun Nair. He scored a quick 31 off 18 balls in the last match. His only low score was a duck due to an unlucky runout. His aggressive start gives Delhi a good edge in the powerplay.
Kuldeep Yadav (DC): Kuldeep Yadav has been consistent and economical for DC. He has taken at least one wicket in each of his last seven league matches, and in most games, he picked up two wickets.
Delhi Capitals will aim to regain the top spot in the standings, while Lucknow Super Giants are looking to continue their winning streak and break into the top four. In their reverse fixture, Delhi won by just one wicket – their third straight win against LSG in the head-to-head record.
Delhi’s new opening pair, Karun Nair and Abhishek Porel, have looked solid. With Jake Fraser-McGurk out, they seem more stable than LSG’s openers, who haven’t scored over 20 before the first wicket in the last two matches.
